When teaching children to read, it shouldn’t be torture. Instead, look for ways to make reading fun! As parents and family members expectantly wait for their child to learn to ready, the pressure can ultimately put a damper on a child’s excitement about reading. Once a child has lost the excitement of reading, the desire may become extinguished. You can help make reading fun for your child, while creating a lifetime love of reading that will stay with your child. Keep reading for ideas on how to actively engage your child in the reading process.

POPCORN READING. Popcorn reading entails having an older reader let the child read the recognized words, and the older reader will read the words causing frustration. This works by using the word “popcorn” to pass off reading to the other reader taking turns reading out loud.

Popcorn Reading – This is a fun way for a child to be able to read the words he/she knows and pass on the words that are causing frustration. While reading a book together, each of you take a turn reading aloud. When the one who is reading says the word “popcorn”, it is the other persons turn to read.

HIGHLIGHT HEAVEN. As long as you own the book, don’t be afraid to mark in it. Using a highlighter to show the words your child reads will make reading fun as your child sees how many words he/she has accomplished. This will boost confidence as your child sees the whole page eventually turn into a big highlighted mark of success.

Highlight Heaven. Grab an older book and a highlighter and have your child highlight every word on the page that he/she can read. After all the words your child knows are highlighted on the page. Now take a moment and have your child look and see how many words that were not hightlighted that he/she can actually read. This is quite a confidence booster.

Flashlight Reading . Before your child is too tired at the end of the day, take some time and read in a dark room. Take a flashlight with you and read the book by flashlight. Little boys especially like this one.

READING CORNER. Designate a special spot in your house as a reading corner. You can have a special rug or pillows in a quiet spot, where your child can “get away” from the activities and simply read. Bean bags are also a great option for reading corners. Decorate it to make it an appealing place for your child to go.

PICTURE DETECTIVE. Have your child become a detective in the story, who tries to guess the next event by looking at the pictures. Read through the story and find out what really happened and how close the pictures were.

POPUP WORDS. This works best for kinesthetic learners (those who learn through touch and feel), but is effective for any child. If your reader has a particular word that keeps giving him trouble, stand up together and sit back down (pop up) every time you read the word. This will let your child associate the word and retain it.

POP UP WORDS. Find a particular word that gives your child trouble, and every time you come across the word in a story “pop up” (stand up together). This will create an association with the word and will help the child remember. This technique works best if your child is a kinesthetic learner – one that learns through touch and feel.

You can make reading fun for you and your child, with these ideas and many others. Invest the time and your child will surprise you by taking off with reading!

Am I pregnant? Best HPT? All signs and online tests suggest that, yes, but only 16 !!!!!!!!!!?

I had diarrhea for about 2 weeks now, and I vomited twice in recent weeks. My boyfriend and I are together for more than one year and, unfortunately, have always used a condom. I realize that I'm an idiot and get something that each method is not secure. What is the best pregnancy test to take? I have my period, but now everything I read says that its full range possible for that to happen.

Oh dear. Well, try the EPT test, and the first response, too. You can go to Planned Parenthood for a free trial, too, and get more information about things. You have a history of diarrhea? Last two weeks – usually has no symptoms of pregnancy before that too 4-6 weeks especially around the time you would have concieved (2 weeks). The reason you feel sick during early pregnancy is because of hormones that are released and are doubly every two days, so at first, hardly exists in your system. Although luck and please be careful! Even if you do not – go for the pill or something, Planned Parenthood will give you free!

But my home event, says negative. im help all expectations a little longer before going to the doctors.

All I could say it's going to the doctor. They are the only ones who can say, especially if you are pregnant or not. Then you can stop worrying:)

parenting with purpose and grace

Do you think that every human being has a purpose established by God, or we just move mammals?

here by accident of evolution? I thought a lot about this and I can not reach a conclusion. Part of me thinks that we are only animals with a more developed brain, here the grace of our parents. On the contrary, part of me also believes that everything in life is very determined and has a purpose. For example, I'm no genius by any means, I wil not cure cancer or make important discoveries, but simply can not understand that I never existed. I felt like I had been here for a reason, and I feel deep in my heart that everything I have in my life have made such mistakes and all who were, and all donations I have a disability and are given as part of the plan that was supposed to happen. How do others feel about this? is everything in life predetermined? because each and every human being born has a purpose established by the great master, or are we really only mammals developed here by accident of evolution?

We have God has given no effect. We have some biological requirements and the need to spread our genes. That's it, however. Life is only what you do. And, please refers to the process of evolution that the evolution of the accident. No dice is rolled.
