The bladder infection during pregnancy and what to do?

Hello I'm 26 weeks pregnant and had a bladder infection all the time. Nothing seems to get rid of it and emerge on Dr. prescribed me a drug called trimethoprim / sulfamethoxazole … I read that and not safe for your baby! So I'm going back to the DRS for this recipe! I am concerned, it has become a kidney infection and I feel bad for my poor child, because I was sick today … 26 weeks I just started taking cranberry pills Walmart and tons of water Drinking … Other suggestions?
