audio books parenting

Audio books are usually associated with stories for children with language learning. They are useful when you want to maintain a child in silence for several minutes. Are invaluable when you need to bend the tongue around the vowels and consonants of a language.

For some people, the benefits of audio books to stop there. However, there are more ways that audio books can be helpful. They can be a good medium for the transmission of works of fiction too.

A good reason to display a disc on a CD audio book is a pleasure to share favorite game or other literary work with his family and friends. As we learned in the novels of Jane Austen, people used to reading aloud fun at each other before there was television. Today, reading aloud is limited to the tradition of time story ends when children learn the letters of the alphabet.

Radio probably suppress the elevation of reading but it is always a good alternative to form of radio plays. With listeners probably relieved of professional actors read the text, the family continued to spend an enjoyable evening with strength around the receiver. Except once, when the public reacted with panic to the adaptation of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds "and ran out of their comfortable homes, convinced that Earth was under attack from Mars.

We know better today. No need to strain our imagination. We do it all – sound, images and special effects – from dozens of television and DVD. We could probably even find a little embarrassed to be discovered … listening.

Or maybe not, as a friend of mine recently discovered, when she and her family re-discovered the pleasure of listening.

Related parties, family would spend several hours in the confined space of your car. The father of the family was driving and my friend was in the front passenger seat, child and adolescent twins in the back. And as usual to the family of my friend in all long journeys, the twins were separated by a pile of suitcases Strategic agreement between them. However, the first hour of training was regularly interrupted by coups, fighting, shouting, tears and accusations from the very back seat. My friend was constantly turning in a vain attempt to negotiate a peace agreement, which notes with concern the throbbing vein on the forehead of her husband. Desperate for distraction, opened the glove compartment and rummaged in the pile of CDs. A few familiar cover caught his eye. It was an audio book that someone had given their age there. Is inserted in the CD – and after the second sentence, return rumors decreased.

For this particular family has never been a more relaxed trip. Absorbed in an Agatha Christie murder mystery audio book with the bright The detective Hercule Poirot, the twins forgot the struggle. He even invited the parents to make judgments shorter, while shipments of similar earlier should be cajoled, bribed or back in the car.

No wonder that audio books are a necessary part of all my friends moving with his family. He learned what many of us have forgotten: never underestimate the power of words and the ability of sound sensations purely to attract attention and imagination.

In this name, give your imagination a treatment. Get an audiobook – May be useful for the long trip over this Christmas period.

parenting guide books

Does anyone know of a guide rehabilitation Guide for Parents?

I was hoping to find some form of a book that helps guide an adult child while his father is in rehab. Sort of what to expect when your child is in rehab type of thing. Of Suggestions? FYI this is for my aunt, whose son, aged over 30 years at the time of collection divorced his wife, abandoned her child and decided to drugs. The county has placed in rehabilitation center and has received much love.

I recommend going to the website of Al-Anon and purchase some leaflets / materials to help understand his (or her) role and what to expect. Al-Anon is a great organization IMO.
