Best camp in Socal Cities near Los Angeles or nearby?

My friends and I to go camping at the end of the year. If all adolescents I do not know anything about camping! we want to go "camp", with a lake on a mountain. We do not know what is the best place that our parents do not know what 's a safe place. Thank you very much for your help. BTW, at least we have the trip becuz compare gas prices high.

Green Valley Lake, near Lake Arrowhead. Small Nice camp at the end of the road, not far from the lake. It is also right on the edge of town.
