The Tale Of The Christmas Dinner That Almost Wasn’t

Everyone has a funny story that happens during the holiday season that make the holidays especially memorable. Last year some very interesting things occurred that at first looked like they would make Christmas a disaster, however, in the end we were able to salvage it and have one of the best Christmases in memory. Who know you may find yourself in the same situation and this story will not only help cheer up your family, but also give some useful ideas that you can use.

Every year my mom does the same thing as always. She spends the day before Christmas making the holiday meal. She makes the side dishes first because they take the shortest time to do. Then she works on the desserts. She likes to make various kinds of cheesecake, sheet cake, and the family favorite, her world famous Leroy cake she makes without a recipe. It amazes me every time how she gets it right. Of course there was the Christmas she forgot, but that is another story. She always does the turkey last. However when we woke up then next morning several things happened.

First, we found out that the oven was not working. It was discovered that turkey was not fully cooked and somehow during the night the oven gave up the ghost and went on to its reward. Our Dad then tried to fix it and then of course also ruined the stove. It should be a federal law that Dad’s should not mess with electrical appliance they don’t know about.

So here we were with no way to cook our turkey or any of the remaining sides that were needed to complete the meal. It was panic time. However we remembered how we had used a turkey fryer a couple of Christmases before. Unfortunately it was too late in the season to buy one. So we ended up improvising. We happened to have a huge pot that my mom uses whenever she had to cook for a lot of guests. So we filled it up with cooking oil and dropped the unfinished turkey.

Now we had to find a way to heat it up. We didn’t have the burner but we had something that we thought would work just as well which was our trusty old grill. It wasn’t much to look at but put in some coal and light a match and it did its job just fine. So that is what we did. We lit up the grill and set the pot on top. It was then a game of cat and mouse with the flames and we all burned our fingers one or two times before it was done. Fortunately the Turkey was cooked to perfection and while we were at it we even finished cooking the remaining sides. It was the most delicious meal ever and we all felt like our forbears who had to use similar methods.

Something special we also do during the holidays is to have the younger kids in our family receiver personalized letters from Santa. We make sure that they are properly addressed and postmarked to look like they came from the North Pole. This year the job became much easier when we found a site that could do it even better for a reasonable price. It is always a pleasure to see the kid’s faces light up when they get them.

Create magic in your child’s eyes with our Santa Letters. EZSantaLetters.com offers fully personalized Santa letters and 15 pre-written Santa Letters. All letters are postmarked from the North Pole and will definitely put a smile on your child’s face.

The rest of the cases of infertility are due to the male’s sperm disorder and other unexplained causes. Proper menstrual processes are needed for a woman to become pregnant once fertilization occurs. One of the most common causes of sterility is a problem with ovulation. Such problems that can result to infertility include uterine problems, tubal blockage and preceding tubal ligation.

These diseases can cause scarring in the fallopian tubes which subsequently causes a blockage when bacteria make its way through towards the uterus, ovaries and surrounding tissues. However, once PID has been successfully treated, pregnancy can often be achieved through in vitro fertilization

Another leading root of infertility is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). It is a hormonal disorder that causes a disruption in a woman’s normal ovulation cycle. they inability to ovulate regularly is the reason why women with PCOS become sterile. Certain medication such as Metformin is capable in treating PCOS by correcting the body’s hormone levels through the body’s ability to absorb insulin.

If you’re a couple hoping to conceive then you should keep an eye on the hormone levels in order to do so successfully. These hormones are created by the pancreas, ovaries , adrenal and thyroid glands. Any diseases that will affect any of these can lead to infertility.

Non medical reasons that cause infertility include the couple’s lifestyles. There are several factors that can lead to a person to be sterile, these factors include smoking, too much alcohol consumption, the use of illicit medication, weight problems and so on.

Unsuccessful attempts to conceive can cause extreme stress for a couple who is trying really hard to do so. Not to mention that sometimes doctors are unable to pinpoint the problems. They label this as unexplained fertility. Another way to take care of this is for the couple to try and not put too much pressure on themselves and try to get a better understanding of the woman’s ovulation cycle in order to conceive successfully. the main idea is to be as stress free as possible.
